In an emotional conversation, Joseph addressed openly about his background, his struggles, and how he has managed to cope with the pressure that comes with blogging.

Can you tell us about yourself and your blog?

My name is Joseph.C. Kalu, and I am a native of Ikwuano LGA in Abia State. I am a young blogger with little experience, a web designer, and a content creator. Currently, I have no personal blog, but I manage different blogs such as braverytravel.com, sureinfo24.com, and ceceliablog.com.

How did the idea of starting a blog come about?

The idea of blogging came about in early 2021 when I meant the CEO of Tmz.ng (Mr. Olamilekan Opa). I wrote a couple of articles for him to have the privilege of knowing what blogging is all about. Although the deal never lasted but that inspired me to make more research about blogging.

What is blogging for you?

Blogging is a passion and not just a money-making venture for me.

What was your key driving force in becoming a blogger?

My key driving force in becoming a blogger was to motivate people so that my voice could be heard through the publication of my thoughts on the web.

What is your key motivation?

My key motivation is derived from the Bible and the books I study.

What is your process for maintaining a blog?

Constant publishing of unique and detailed articles.

How do you measure the success of your blog?

Like I said, I don’t have a personal blog as of now but the way I measure the success of the blogs I manage is through the conversion of clicks and how the audience reacts to the published content.

What are your biggest constraints?

How to implement SEO the perfect way.

Can you share your thoughts on blog monetization?

The few thoughts I have about blog monetization is using Ads companies like AdSense, HBAgency, Adsterra, etc. Also, another method is Affiliate Marketing and selling digital products.

Can you describe your typical day?

Writing for clients, research work on my IT Career and studying books.

Do you think there is some sort of pattern to becoming a successful blogger?

Well, based on my little understanding of blogging, there is no specific pattern to becoming a successful blogger. Other says having a huge sum of money will automatically make you stand in the blogging sphere, while others think, since it’s a passion, just do the norm like publishing unique content and following social media trends.

What is your favourite aspect of being a blogger?

My favourite aspect on being a blogger is the writing part.

What is your opinion on choosing your niche?

Choosing my niche came with;

• What I like doing base on my research

• What other think I am good at

• What my mentor sees as uniqueness about me

• My field of study or career

When writing a blog post, do you prefer to follow a set structure or just let your thoughts flow naturally?

I prefer following a set structure and also letting my thoughts flow. Both are my two key factors.

What do you think is the most important aspect of SEO for a blog?

Content, on-page SEO, and link building.

What do you do in your spare time?

Research, Study and Writing.

What would you have done differently if you were to start all over again?

Hmmm! Choosing a .com domain extension, paying writers to work for me, and learn how to build quality links for traffic purpose, and social media marketing.

Is blogging your profession or just a hobby?

Blogging to me is a profession, hobby and passion.

A lot of people think that blogging is an easy way to make money online. Do you have some tips for those people who are interested in making money from blogging?

Truth be told, blogging isn’t an easy way to make money online but money can be made in blogging if the right process is attached to it with consistency.

What advice will you give to an individual who is about to choose the blogging path?

One piece of advice I will give to an individual who is about to choose the blogging path is not to give up on their blogging dream. If the man I work for can be hitting it at his pace, then I can do and do more.
